the boy from ayawaso bikes freely again! - prologue
2024 was the year I got carried away with one too many side quests! It started with my mission to walk every road in Vancouver, which led to building Gogomi, my 'sauntering assistant' app (now available on App Store for Vancouver folks!).
But there's another quest—one more personal and years in the making—that I haven't shared until now.
At the end of each year, I withdraw from the world to divine the coming year's theme—think CGP Grey's 'Yearly Themes' from the Cortex podcast, but by a repressed artist with a dash of Christian mysticism. My 2024 theme spoke of an erratic beat growing louder over the years, one I could only surrender to and let unfold.

That mysterious rhythm erupted into joyful hours of pedaling and pushing limits I never knew I had. It led me through both familiar and uncharted terrain, forging new friendships and communities along the way.
I call this journey 'The Cycling Training Arcs'—an adventure learning different cycling styles from mentors, supportive peers and rivals that revealed a deeper throughline in my personal story. And boy, was it liberating!

Join me as this journey unfolds through three training arcs leading to the grandest ride of all and concluding with unexpected revelations:
- Ch. 1: afrospin, afrospin, afrospin!
- Ch. 2: rewilding with wetheuntamed
- Ch. 3: cool runnings on the road
- Ch. 4: the grandest ride!
- Ch. 5: epi(phany)logue
